| I have only recently entered the
field of Large Format photography and much of it seems still to be a
"black art" There is no doubt whatsoever in my mind that
once you have in your hand a good print from a 4x5 negative you realise
the full potential of this format.
Interestingly I have owned a Thornton Pickard 5x7 field Camera since my early teens. Previously it had always been a curio something I was keeping locked away in a dark cupboard, kept because of its great age and interesting design. Not any more! This same camera fitted with a new Graflok back for 4x5 format is now a integral part of my new LF experience. The Cambo SC pictured is a recent purchase and I am still putting this system together. When complete this camera will be equipped with the following lenses. 100mm Ziess Ikon Nettar, 127mm Rodenstock Ysarex, and a 210mm Computar Symmetrigon. Watch my Large Format pages on this site for my humble efforts...... SUPPORT YOUR LF CAMERA Those of you who do your MF or LF photograph on a budget and cannot afford the latest and greatest all singing all dancing tripod may be interested in my system for supporting my LF cameras. Total Cost $180AUD Ha Ha.!.. The tripod is a Lufkin ($90AUD) laser level tripod common to the building and construction industry. It is light and extremely rigid. The ball head is a Giottos MH7001 ($75 + $15 Postage AUD) comes complete with plate and levels.
